The little things

Paper Gains Newsletter

I need to meet Kevin one day. I utilize his material often and agree with his philosophy of life.

Great reminders for us all, especially those on the climb.

This WSJ headline caught my attention. The whole rent vs buy argument gets a lot of headlines. FOMO buying your most expensive asset is usually never a good idea.

The article outlines many of the reasons renting is so appealing to so many. I have even started to see more 50+ empty nesters with plenty of assets to continue owning their large family house.

Continuing with the real estate theme. For those stuck with a low interest rate on their mortgage, there is potentially light at the end of the tunnel. My guess is it's not until next year that you see rates materially lower.

Paper Gains Show

This is our YouTube series geared towards those with $1 to $10 million in investable assets. Take a look for a strategic edge and practical insights.

What I've Enjoyed Recently

The Optimist about Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI/ Chat GPT)

Susan Li, the CFO of Meta on Glue Guys. Interesting career and cool to learn about the inner workings of a company that impacts us all daily.

This episode is more of a reminder for myself to eat less carbs and sugar. I do not have the discipline for a keto diet, but episodes like this make me consider it for a few hours.

Here is someone who has money figured out.

See Ya Soon

The Lucid Investor Newsletter by Matt Magee at mForce Capital You might have seen this, but posts like this always catch my attention. Odell Beckham, the football player, is struggling with his finances even after making $100 million. The breakdown below is great. That $56 million is $11.2 million annually over 5 years. That is $933,333 monthly, after taxes. There is not a single person on this email or reading online who cannot make that work. Athletes and Assets does make a great...
